Share a sweet with your sweet at 2 am: Dessert Bar

Named after their closing hour, 2am: Dessert Bar is the brainchild of celebrity pastry chef Janice Wong. Hidden in a corner of the Holland Village food enclave, the contemporary space offers an intimate experience over desserts and cocktails.

Spice it up at Birds of a Feather

Put a little heat into your Valentine’s Day plans at this Chinatown joint. Run by the folks behind Good Wood Coffee, a chain of cafes in Chengdu, Sichuan, the joint serves Western grub with a Sichuan twist along with some traditional favourites. Think Bolognaise made from 炸酱 Zha Jiang Sauce and Grilled Cheese Paninis with Sichuan-style pork belly. Yum.

The cafe covers two shophouses and features a cosy mix of wooden furniture and lush greenery. We recommend visiting in the afternoon where, thanks to two large skylights, the space is bathed in natural sunlight that makes for picture-perfect snapshots.

Unwind with some nimble kneads

Work those stresses away under the deft hands of the therapists at award-winning spa, Nimble/Knead. Tucked away in the trendy Tiong Bahru neighbourhood, the spa is built out of disused shipping containers and offers treatments inspired by techniques from the world over.

Couple treatments are available with dedicated treatment rooms for duos looking to unwind. We recommend their scrumptious-sounding food-themed treatments like Chocoholic. Get set to be slathered in a delicious blend of chocolate powders, cocoa seed, skin-loving vitamins and jojoba oil for guilt-free indulgence.

The bonus bits? In some cultures, chocolate is counted as an aphrodisiac, so go on, get loving!
